Ecstatic Rave is a sober rave ritual that blends the raw energy of ’90s UK rave culture with the healing practices of holistic embodiment and spirituality. The brand needed to capture the essence of these two seemingly contrasting worlds, one grounded in rebellion and movement, the other in healing and introspection
My goal with the visual identity was to honour the nostalgia and visual chaos of classic rave culture while weaving in softness, symbolism and spiritual undertones.
The logo brings these two ideas together through an icon that merges a stylised third eye with a rising sun. The lashes of the eye transform into sun rays, symbolising clarity, awakening and the euphoric power of dance and connection. This icon acts as a spiritual anchor for the brand, representing both vision and transformation.
To complement the icon, I created a wordmark that fuses two contrasting fonts. The bold, stretched typeface mirrors the expressive, rebellious look of 90s rave posters, evoking movement and energy.
In contrast, a flowing, curved ‘A’ introduces a sense of spirituality and dance, bringing softness and transformation into the design. This small detail subtly reflects the blend of movement, music and mindfulness that defines the experience.
The overall identity feels like movement, gritty and chaotic in its roots, yet calming and emotionally resonant. It’s a visual balance of rebellion and ritual, nostalgia and intention.
