My Logo Design Process: What to Expect

If you’ve ever wanted to work with a designer but felt nervous about what to expect, I’ve put together this simple step-by-step guide to my process. This breaks it all down so you know exactly what to expect when working with me.
STEP 1 KICK OFF CALL
A quick 30-minute chat to learn all about your business, your goals, and what you need from your new logo.
STEP 2 PROPOSAL & BOOKING
I’ll send a proposal outlining everything we discussed, including pricing and timelines. Once approved, you’ll receive a contract, a business questionnaire, and an invoice for a 20% deposit.
STEP 3 BRAND STRATEGY
A deeper dive into your brand, I will put together a presentation that looks at your business foundations, audience, competitors and overall vision. I’ll put together a visual strategy with two mood boards for you to choose from before I start designing. This helps us align on the overall style and direction.
STEP 4 LOGO DESIGN
Based on our strategy, I’ll explore concepts through research, sketching and development before refining the strongest idea. Instead of overwhelming you with options, I present one concept that truly works for your brand.
STEP 5 BRAND PRESENTATION
I’ll present your new logo with a walkthrough of the thought process behind it. You’ll receive a feedback form to gather your thoughts before we finalise the design.
STEP 6 FEEDBACK AND AMENDS
Take a few days to review everything and let me know if any small refinements are needed.
STEP 7 FINAL FILES AND SUPORT
Once the final invoice is paid, you’ll receive all the logo files in an organised folder, ready to use. I’ll also check in with you a few months later to see how your new branding is working for you!
